IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ - Chat with Lab

If you're a Java developer and you need JDBC 4 features like auto-loading, SQL exception handling enhancements, XML support, DataSet implementation of SQL, it makes sense to use the JDBC 4 compatible IBM Data Server Driver with IDS instead of the Informix JDBC driver.

 There's a children book that I used to read to my kids. It was about a boy that was laying around on the grass when he say a fly go by. What followed was a bunch of animals chasing each other.

Lately, I took a break from blogging (I hope you've noticed!), like a little boy laying on the grass, enjoying a sunny day. During that time, IDS 11.50xC6 came out. Here are a few interesting features:

Early Validation Program (EVP) releases of the next major release of IDS will be available to test soon. If you want to keep up to learn about and prepare for the very latest features this is a good opportunity to participate.

The beta program for IDS 12 - Codename Panther - is starting soon. Take the opportunity to explore the new features of this new IDS release which will probably be released in the third quarter this year.

Participating in the beta program gives you direct contact to the IBM Informix lab. You can explore the new functionality in your environment and see how it could improve your current and future installations of IDS.
